The more I explore ways for AI to be useful in my personal life, I see that access to context is important. Yet, it is almost impossible to find and use.
While working with AI to code for work, context is often a tag away. @sdk or @index.ts. The context has been given and off to the races or your bug fix or new feature.
When I am talking with ChatGPT, context is not so readily available.
The health announcement from OpenAI got me thinking about how this looks in the near term. Our AI overlords are going to integrate services we use into their proprietary AI agents. This will be the leverage to have consumers pay for the walled garden AI ecosystem they are creating. While my business heart understands this approach, I am not a fan.
Even more than in the Facebook ads era, our data are the poker chips and I want an open but secure ecosystem to place those bets.
Lots of things for personal AI are forthcoming and unreconciled. Time will tell if this truly is the next step in computing or just the next Wall Street money maker.
